The topics may range from background research for a rock/pop band, legacy of the Vikings, travel books, popular cinema and its scope, among many others. The field of teaching is also very closely related to research.

- Passion and stamina for his/her subject of choice to go on reading, writing, researching and teaching.
- Intellectual capacity that is important considering the brainy competition one would be up against.
- Patience and determination, because in this field it may take years for a study to be popularly recognized
- The ability to use and access electronic databases, be an internet whiz and use word processing will be valuable skills

The Study Route
There is no particular category of colleges for academics and research at graduate
level. One may pursue a graduate degree in any field of their interest - Medicine,
engineering, pure sciences, or social sciences or arts or any stream of one’s choice.
After that, they can pursue a postgraduation in their dream career. Some institutes
also offer a 6-year integrated PhD program for meritorious B. Sc graduates. And
then finally, after masters, go on to a PhD, or apply for a corporate job, one with
the government, or in teaching.
In academics, work options vary between the kinds of subject specializations and
the student age base that one wishes to teach. There is the option of becoming a
kindergarten, primary school, secondary school or high school teacher, or a college
professor.
In research, there are opportunities in various subjects, and researchers can conduct
researches on almost any topic they find interesting. Perseverance and dedication
should be considered pre-requisites for anybody to succeed in this field. Optionally,
one may also consider options abroad.

all sectors of the economy, including entertainment will continue to be on the rise.

for more teaching jobs with every new school, college and university which comes
up. Going by the trend and numbers, this is not bound to change any time soon.
