Who all can participate?
This scholarship programme is open for all students from class 3 to 8 of government
recognized schools including private, public or national open schools/home schools
all over India. There are two categories –i-genius Juniors (Classes 3 to 5), and
i-genius Seniors (Classes 6 to 8). The eligibility and category is dependent upon
the class the participant is in as on 1st January 2014. The student must be an Indian
national or a NRI, resident in India for the duration of the Programme
What is the duration of the program?
The programme duration is from December 17, 2013, to August 31, 2014, and the registrations
are open till May 31st, 2014.
What is the last date of registration?
The registrations are open from December 17th, 2013 to May 31st, 2014 for igenius
junior & senior.
Who all cannot participate?
Children of Max Life Insurance employees or Directors or individual agents; or employees
of Derek O’Brien & Associates; or employees of Havas Worldwide India Private Limited
are not eligible for the programme.
Is there is any participation fee/other charges applicable to apply for the scholarship?
No participation or any other fees is required to be paid for participating in the
Do I need to be a Max Life Insurance policyholder/Do I need to buy a policy to participate?
No, there is no such requirement. The programme is open to all eligible as per point
How many categories are there to participate in programme?
There are three categories to participate in the programme:
1. i-genius-Junior: classes 3-5
2. i-genius Senior: classes 6-8
The participants would be competing with those who qualify under the same category.

What are the different modes of registrations?

What are the various stages of the scholarship programme to select winners?
There are 3 stages in total:
Stage 1 : Registration & Online Test level 1
a) Registration open between Decmber 17, 2013 to May 31st, 2014
b) Online Test between 10 January, 2014 – June 15, 2014.
Stage 2 : Panel discussion of city-wise short-listed candidates via video-conferencing
in select cities mandated by Max.
a) To be conducted in September 2014 for shortlisted candidates.
Stage 3 : Grand Finale
a) To be conducted in New Delhi
b) The shortlisted candidates will participate in this Grand Finale.
Please note that the dates are only indicative and may change during the program.
What amount can I win through the scholarship programme?
1. Grand First Prize - Rs.10 Lacs: 2 Prizes category, i.e. Junior and Senior.
2. 2nd Prize - Rs.1 Lac (18 Prizes) - 9 each for Juniors and Seniors categories.
3. 3rd Prize - Rs.10,000 (80 Prizes) - 40 each for Juniors and Seniors categories.
4. 900 Merit Certificates - 450 each for Juniors and Seniors categories.
Is the scholarship money subject to tax deductions?
Yes, the scholarship amounts are subject to tax deduction under the prevailing tax
How will I receive the scholarship money?
On getting selected, the respective scholarship monies will be handed over as a
cheque in favor of the parent. The scholarship payout will be made in India, in
Indian rupees (INR).The scholarship amount won cannot be exchanged for anything
How will the participant be intimated about his/her user-id/password and test dates?
Participants would get their user ids/passwords and test dates via email and sms
at least one week prior to test date. A reminder SMS and email will also be sent
a couple of days before the test date.
Why would my application form be rejected?
In case, the registration form is not filled completely and correctly, your application
is likely to get rejected. However, you can re-apply for the same before May 31st,
2014, through different modes of registrations like online on
What if I don’t remember my password?
The participant can retrieve his/her password by entering user-id on
www.igenius.org login screen.
What if I don't remember my user id & password both?
The participant can retrieve both by entering verification details on the
www.igenius.org login screen. Although, the user id needs to be retrieved
first to get the password.
What kind of questions are there and what would be the duration of the Stage 1 test?
i. Duration: upto 30 minutes
ii. Content: General Knowledge, Visual Thinking, Reasoning, Creativity
What kind of questions are there and what would be the duration of the Stage 2 evaluation?
i. Duration:Approx 5 to 7 minutes
ii. General, Open-ended interview: Questions on their personal
lives, their views on current affairs, and their interests and talents.
Is Max Life Insurance is going to reimburse the travel and stay expenses for the
There is NO reimbursement policy for i-genius participation. However, Max Life Insurance
will make arrangements for travel, boarding and lodging of the Grand Finale participants
and one parent/legal guardian at New Delhi. The entire cost of these arrangements
will be borne by Max Life Insurance.
What if I don't have mobile?
Having a mobile phone is a mandatory requirement and accordingly has to be filled
in the scholarship form.
What if I don't have an internet access, how do I take exams?
The participant has to ensure arrangements to access the online test on their own.
What if I miss the test at any of the stages?
Incase the participant misses out on their designated time slot/date, they will be disqualified and cannot participate further in the i-genius program.
How will the results be announced?
The shortlisted candidates will be intimated through sms/e-mail and their results will also be published on our website www.igenius.org
